Question Editing Expert Settings crashes CWS5

    Hi All

Since Day One, I have had an intermittent problem with CWS5 crashing when editing Colorwise Expert Settings.

I thought this was something to do with the job being processed and rastered, but I have found it does the same with unprocessed jobs and preprocessed jobs with the raster removed.

Anyone care to throw me a bone?

    Hi Gavin,
Did you do an upgrade, a clean install, or even a parallel installation?
    Is CWS4.x still working?
I had something similar several times, when upgrading very old CWS4 versions to the last one. Had to uninstall CWS completely, reboot and install again.
You might also want to check for pop up blockers and firewall settings. Disable both and see what happens.

    Cheers,

    Hi trantor

Yes, it was a parallel install. I still have CWS4 installed and haven't got around to dumping it as yet. I have heard that CWS4 can cause problems with 5 so nedd to do that sooner rather than later.

Didn't think about the firewall or pop-up option - wouldn't have even occurred to me that these would have caused a problem. Will look into it.

    Thanks for response.

Well, inspite of a clean install and upgrade to 5.0.1 this still seems to occur at random intervals.

I've tried running CWS in various compatibility modes, but this seems to make no difference.

    Any takers?
