Barcode
Hi,
Is there anyway we can impose a bar code on the job automatically that contains the name of the PDF file been printed?
-
There is no specific feature in Fiery Impose that allows this. Currently, Fiery Impose barcode support is limited to numeric digits which would be read by a Duplo finisher to load a cutting program.

Good morning Edward, please know we are able to put a barcode to an imposed PDF with Fiery JobFlow. If you want more information please reach to me at hans.sep[at]efi.com

insert filename would also be a useful feature to have under watermarks. this is something that a 250 euro HP desktop printer can do...
-
or even a way where you can auto add a catch line to the job without having to impose

@Bencr
You can add a control bar to the job without having to open it in Impose.
The control bar doesn't do barcodes, but you can add most other things like job title, date/time, server, color profiles, etc.
It can also add job notes fields which can be any custom text you want.
Control bars can be created in Device center, and then chosen from Job Properties, and saved in Server Presets and Virtual printers.

The Control Bar Builder interface accepts EPS and PDF files as its "Color Bar" component.
It won't be automatic, but if you can supply the bar code as a PDF and load it into Control Bar Builder, you can have it stamp your jobs with it. This can be impractical if you have tons of jobs (different names), but OK otherwise.
There are many types of bar codes... If you could provide more information about your exact needs to hans.sep[at]efi.com, EFI may consider your feature request in upcoming versions...
