    Default Thick paper problem

    Hi all,

A colleague of mine is having trouble printing via the fiery driver (IC-414 controller on a KM C754e)

Despite selecting "a4" and "plain paper" in the driver (which are set as defaults) when it comes to printing the printer thinks it needs to print onto thick paper, which is not loaded into the printer.

    Any ideas?

There are a few things we need to check. Fiery's need a 4-point match for a successful print:

    Weight
    Type
    Size
    Tray
There can be a fifth - Color - but this is rarely the issue.

Match these four items in the print driver to the paper as loaded in the tray, and defined in the engine. Give it a print. If this doesn't work, then go to CWS and open the properties on this job. Verify that the paper options you sent in the driver are actually what was received by the Fiery. If they are not the same, there is most likely a driver problem. Not to worry, you can fix the options here and print directly from CWS. Good Luck!

    Cheers,
    Shawn
