Default JobMaster: Convert to greyscale causes image distortion

    Hi!

I've spotted some PDF files (all of them exported using MS Office) which are showing a strange behaviour when I try to convert some pages to greyscale using Impose/Jobmaster.

Although the affected pages show up correctly in Impose/Jobmaster, the rasterized output seems to have a layer order problem. Initially hidden objects became visible.

This one is a screenshot out of Impose and shows the correct image:

This is what ImageViewer shows me after ripping the page:

Size: 104.0 KB

    Hi oxident,

Are you using the Convert to Grayscale action in Compose/Impose menu or are you setting grayscale from the media attribute?

Could you private message me and send the job archive so that we can look into this?

    Thanks
    Mark

Good point ... I've tried both ways. Result is identical.

Oxident, thanks for sharing the sample file we were able to reproduce the issue. A defect has been logged and we'll get this resolved in an upcoming sustaining release.

    Thanks

Hi oxident, the fix will be coming in a CWS5.8 sustaining release (probably July timeframe). You can download it from our download site.

It sounds like you use this feature a lot. If you encounter additional problem files in the future then please share them with me via PM.

    Thanks
    Mark
