    With the release of Fiery JobFlow 2.2.3, JobFlow now automatically selects a different port if it finds port 80 is blocked.


    Introducing the Fiery JobFlow network port change tool.

    Fiery JobFlow is an application that runs as a web service in an Apache web server environment. The Fiery JobFlow installer checks whether a correct version of the Apache web server is already installed and it will install Apache if needed. By default Apache is configured to use port 80 (or 'http') to publish Fiery JobFlow.

    If port 80 is not available the Fiery JobFlow installer displays a warning and stops the installation. This tool will make the necessary changes to run Fiery JobFlow on a different network port than the default port 80. Please use this link to download the network port change tool. Instructions below are also included with the tool.

    This tool makes changes to an _existing_ Fiery JobFlow installation so any application that is using port 80 needs to be temporarily disabled so that Fiery JobFlow can be installed so the changes can be applied.

    To find out which application is blocking Fiery JobFlow running on port 80 the following instructions are from the following great article:

    Run the following command from the command line to try and find the process ID (PID) that is associated with the application on port 80:

    netstat -aon > C:\info.txt

    This will generate a text file c:\info.txt with a list of all processes with active connections. Look for the process that has the following connection: 0:0:0:0:80 and note the PID associated with that process. You can then use Windows Task Manager to find the application/service with that PID (you might need to enable the option 'Show Processes for All Users') to stop the process.

    If command line is not your thing I highly recommend the excellent freeware CurrPorts utility by Nirsoft. The tools shows you all processes, ports, remote ports, etc. You can also use the tool to directly kill the process. The latest version of CurrPorts is included with the network port change tool and can be found in the cports folder but can also be downloaded from

    Known Windows Services that listen on port 80
    The following Windows Services and applications are known to block port 80. Main source of this overview is from the excellent article at

    1. SQL Server Reporting Services (ReportServer)
    2. Web Deployment Agent Service (MsDepSvc)
    3. BranchCache (PeerDistSvc)
    4. Sync Share Service (SyncShareSvc)
    5. World Wide Web Publishing Service (W3SVC)
    6. Internet Information Server (WAS, IISADMIN)

    These services are not needed for normal Windows functionality, and can be safely disabled.

    Other culprits might be:
    * http.sys (From command line run the following command: net stop http /y)
    * Skype (Tools > Options > Advanced > Connection: Uncheck "Use Port 80 and 443 for incoming connections")
    * TeamViewer (Extras > Options > Advanced: Enable option "Don't use incoming port 80")
    * VMWare Host Agent service (Edit > Preferences > Shared VMs: Change the ports)

    Steps to apply changes
    After the application that blocks port 80 is temporarily disabled and Fiery JobFlow has been installed please follow these steps:
    1. Unzip the on the system where JobFlow is installed.
    2. Run changeApachePort.bat as administrator. (Right click on changeApachePort.bat and select ‘Run as administrator’)
    3. Restart the system.

    Fiery JobFlow can now be accessed via http://localhost:9090/jobflow/login.

    With our next release this process will be part of the Fiery JobFlow install process so you don't need to hunt for the service that is claiming port 80.
