    Question API licencing help

    Hi there,

"Q: How long does the evaluation key last?

A: Currently, the evaluation key last 6 months after the key generation."

Where could I acquire one of these keys?

Also, how do I acquire a 'real' key?

    Kind regards,

    Jack

    Hi Jack,

Sorry about getting back to you late.

You might have found this out already but you can go to developer.efi.com, create your account and you can get the evaluation key right away from there.

Please let me know if you are having problem with it.

    Thanks!

    Hi Yusuke,

The evaluation key I got from developer.efi.com (attached) does not fit into https://[fiery-ip]/activate/ (attached). I've been told I need to go to that URL to activate the API to use it, but if the key doesn't fit, where do I use the key?

    Kind regards,

    Jack Randall

    Hi Jack,

The evaluation key doesn't require Fiery API activation for your Fiery.

You need to use the evaluation key to create handshake between your Fiery and your app/tool/code with "Login" API. Please look at the documentation page or download a sample for Login to see how you use your evaluation key.

The activation window needs to be used when you received the production key (a permanent key) and License Activation Code (LAC). The LAC is the one you use for activating Fiery accompanied with the production key (once again that you use with login).

Once again, the evaluation key doesn't require a LAC for your Fiery and lasts 6 months after generated from our website.

    Thanks!
    Yusuke
