Hi, we installed a Xerox Versant 80 with external Fiery

after a while, fiery was disconnected, we saw the the c: drive was full
we noticed verry big log files in the c:\windows\logs\cbs dir

what is causing this issue or log files?

    Hi Fabio,

Not sure, this is new to me.
Do you have any third party software installed on the server?
Is it fully patched with Windows and System Updates?

I found this on the web, perhaps helpful?

Checked on a few servers in our lab and while they have log files in this directory, none of them seem to be running out of disk space because of it.

    Kind regards,
    Rune

    hi,

i think the issue is caused by windows updates, there is no other software installed

we turned off windows update service for now , lets hope the log files doesnt come back

    what i dont understand

c: partition is like 50 gb, with 10gb freespace
    d: is about 850 GB

why isnt the c: partition bigger?

C: drive is basically just for Windows OS, Fiery relocates the Spool folder and fiery resources to the E: drive where more space is useful. Helps to keep the Fiery working directories on their own drive/partition.
Rune_C has it right, its a Windows log process that is supposed to compress the log files but looks like it sometimes doesn't work properly. May need to have your Fiery reloaded to reset things and get back to normal operation.
