On a fresh machine (or if you have uninstalled Fiery Extended Applications package) FSM will display and download CWS 5.8. However (as you described) if there is a prior version of CWS already installed then FSM will only display CWS 5.7.
Alternately, you can download the complete CWS 5.8 installation package for Windows or Mac from the download center:

The full package of Rel 4.4 including Service Pack 1 is now available in the download center - under Application Software and Tools. Service Pack 1 includes the fix for the 'Job Properties not launching with certain Sys8eR2 products' problem.
We are again opening the update notifications to Fiery Software Manager in a staggered manner (by locale), so if you don't see the update there now, you will in the coming weeks.
In the meantime anyone can install the new package from the download center.
