    Default Paper size

    Hello,

    I have been trying to set paper size for job through attributes "media type", "media size", "media weight", "EFPrintSize", "PageSize" and "EFMediaWeight", but the press ignores it and want A4.
    Is it possible to specify paper size?

    Please supply printer/server information. Also include the CWS version and if you are using a client computer rather than the server supply the OS type.

    The printer is Rioh 901 (http://rpp.ricoh-usa.com/products/pr...s-graphic-arts). Server with Windows 7, the answer on /live/api/v2/version is
    Code:
    {"AgaliVersion":"1.3.00.29","RubyVersion":"1.9.03.147b","RhythmVersion":"1.3.14"}

    I do not use CWS. I'm posting a new job through the Fiery API.

    Hi there,

    Thank you for participating in the Fiery API forum!
    Fiery Paper Catalog related attributes are still experimental implementation so you may encounter some hiccups and requires a little trial and errors. We really apologize for the inconvenience... With that said, your feedback and use case examples are invaluable for us to improve the product and provide the right feature set.

    We believe that you've tried EFIPrintSize=A4 and PageSize=A4 already and they didn't work for you?

    If so, could you please try below check if it solves your problem?

    *CustomPageSize=False
    *CustomPrintSize=False
    *EFPCMID=3144
    *EFPCName=New media
    *EFPrintSize=A4
    *PageSize=A4

    Best regards,
    Fiery API Team

    Hi!
    I have same issue as topic starter.
    The problem is we can't set sizes other than A4. And you suggest how to set size to A4.
    So, what we need is to set paper size and ignore size settings.

    Can you, please, help with that?

    Hi there,

    Sorry about the late reply.

    If what you need to do is "what we need is to set paper size and ignore size settings."

    Then you can submit a job with with

    attributes[EFPrintSize] = Your paper size.

    To get the value available for EFPrintSize, you can call GET ~/live/api/v3/properties/EFPrintSize Try Tabloid for example as a value.

    In this case the other settings will be set as default.

    If you have enabled Job Mismatch from Fiery Configure, then Fiery might complain that if the paper size you specified with other default setting don't match with what you have in your printer trays. So you might want to turn this off. To do that:

    Go to CWS -> Device Center -> Configure -> Job Management -> Job Mismatch

    If your workflow is using Fiery Paper Catalog then you need to set other attributes. Currently you can't just specify say, Paper Catalog ID and submit.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks,
    Yusuke

    Hi, Yusuke

    Thank you for your reply.

    We've tried GET request, get list of sizes, but some of required sizes not on the list. There is "CustomPrintSize" on the list. Can we use it to specify any size we want? And how?

    Thanks

    Hi there,

    You need to specify 4 attributes for specifying custom paper size to work, and also the size needs to be specified in points.

    PageSize = “CustomPageSize0”
    CustomPageSize = 472.32 725.76
    EFPrintSize = “CustomPrintSize”
    CustomPrintSize = 472.32 725.76

    Hope this helps!
