Default No threads about the end of Micropress support?

Has anyone made a plan to migrate to another device? How about archived files - can we convert to another format and still retain calls for different trays and finisher options?

    Inquiring minds want to know!

    Default MicroPress support

MicroPress files can easily be moved from one engine type to another without losing any formatting such as tray calls and finisher options. But if you are referring to moving MicroPress jobs to another product, what is the product? Since MicroPress jobs are proprietary they may not hold the settings, but MicroPress support is ongoing so if you have jobs that need to be moved let’s look at the specifics of your request.

    Thanks,
    Ken

    Ken, thanks for the reply.

Can we move a job archived in the proprietary Micropress format (as opposed to pdf) to a Fiery E-80 and retain pertinent info? The Micropress directly drives a Ricoh 1107 and 1357, the E-80 runs the Ricoh C-900 directly.

    Default MicroPress archives

    Hello Hemlock,

MSM files are proprietary to MicroPress only, so they can only be used by the PrintStation Manager (PSM). Even with PDF archives the job settings can only be used by the PSM, but with a PDF archive you can import the PDF into the Fiery. Some job settings though will have to be reset.

    Thanks,
    Ken
