    Default FS100 / FS100 Pro

    Hello.

I'm having trouble to understand the naming / upgrade conventions for the new Fiery's (for KM printers). Please correct me, if I'm wrong:

    FS100 is the IC-413 1.1 (?)
    FS100 Pro is the IC-306/3600 3.0 (?)

Do these upgrades require hardware modifications (e.g. dongle or memory upgrade like IC-306 v1->v2) or is it just a software update?

What are the feature differences between the IC-413 1.1 and the IC-306 3.0 (besides embedded/stand alone and different hardware)?

Will APPE still being limited to the external model?

    Thanks for any comment

The IC-413 v1.1 upgrade does not involve a code base change. This Fiery remains at System 9e. However, here are major differences:
    - OS change to Win7 Pro 32-bit
    - Updated print drivers (support newer OS's such as Win8 and Mac OS 10.8)
    - Updated Fiery utilities/apps
    - incorporates almost all patches that were released for v1.0
    - no hardware change
    - option kits are basically the same

The IC-306 v3.0 upgrade does upgrade the Fiery code base from System 9r2 to FS100 Pro level
    Here are the major differences:
    - OS change to Win7 Pro 64-bit
    - Updated print drivers (support newer OS's such as Win8 and Mac OS 10.8)
    - Updated Fiery utilities/apps
    - incorporates almost all patches that were released for v2.0
    - Only hardware change from v2.0 is new added graphics card
    - Option kits are software license-based rather than dongle-based

As for feature differences, and specifics as to what FS100 Pro has to offer, please refer to your KM dealer. Those materials should be available now.

    Really?

Do you deal with KM direct, or with a dealer?

KM has had this information for quite some time now. Dealers, who knows.

Okay, received the v3 kit now, installed video card, installed memory, installed dongle ... and discovered that the system dvd has a mastering error (unreadable). Exchange media will arrive within the next month

It would be great if EFI will find a way in the future to separate the system software from the OS in order to make it downloadable for such "emergencies"

Can you be more specific about what error you saw, when in process it happened, and with which DVD?

Also, I just sent you a private message

Hello Scott, thanks for your reply and PM. Unfortunately, my problem is way less complicated

The error message is quite simple: Booting from the DVD failed - it looked like the Fiery tried to boot from the media and nothing happens, even after minutes. Then I've took a look at the DVD inside a running system and everything looked fine. I saw the typical Windows setup files and folders.

So I decided to install a regular Windows 7 x64 in order to just install the Fiery manually afterwards. But after I've got the OS up and running (installed using an official MS media) and tried launching the Fiery Installer, I've noticed that every file on DVD1 seems to be unreadable (CRC-Error). The other discs seems to be fine.

My KM dealer told me that they've never had this issue before and they are going to request a replacement media kit.

So at the moment, my IC-306 has a running base OS but without the Fiery system software

Okay, I guess I get everything up and running next werk.
Just a simple question: Is the driver somewhere available? EFI's site only lists the Mac-Driver for v3 ... but not the one for Windows.

I would really like to roll out the drivers before updating the Fiery ;-)

At the completion of the load (the last DVD is User Software), the version 3.0 drivers are loaded. You can pull them over to client workstations using WebTools the usual way. However the drivers' installers are different...
