Default error message with CWS 5.5 on MAC OSX 10.8.4

    Hello everyone.

When the customer uses the "properties" function in the CWS for print a job again, an error message appears.

    See screenshot.

This message appears for a controller GX400 (Canon IRADVC 92xx) or IMAGE P*** A1 (Canon IRADVC 90xx).
The version of MAC OSX 10.8. 4 and CWS 5.5.
The user has a second MAC OSX 10.5.8 with a 5.3 CWS and no problems.

The detail describes a rights issue on a directory:

    4:39:32 p.m.: Directory '/ var/folders/b3' couldn't be created (error 13: Permission denied)
4:39:32 p.m.: Failed to create a temporary file name (error 2: No such file or directory)
4:39:32 p.m.: can not open user configuration file.

The CWS was reinstalled without success.

    What is the problem?

    Kind regards

    Default Same Issue on 10.8.4

I have the same issue with 10.8.4 on an iMac and have updated from CWS 5.2 to 5.5 without success and am also unable to access job properties in either version.

CWS 5.5 works ok on my MacBook Pro running 10.8.4 so is this an OSX configuration issue and has anyone else come across this before?

    Regards,

    Stevie.

    Default Workaround

This error is occurring because Command Workstation is trying to access a temp folder, which is no longer accessible.

    Here is quick workaround:

    1) Launch Command Workstation
    2) From the Command Workstation menu (next to Apple menu) select > Preferences & select "Cache"
    3) Click "Change Folder"
    4) Click "New Folder" as "CWS5" inside "Documents" folder & Click OK
    5) Also in preferences, select Paths, and change the Temporary path to a new folder inside documents folder.
    6) Restart CWS

If the problem comes back, it could be that some other process is either deleting or changing permissions to a parent folder - such as an antivirus app, or some enterprise software.

Let us know how it goes.
