Post RIP spontaneously stands in offline mode during the day

Our customers still have complains the RIP spontaneously stands in offline mode during the day.
The customer has version 8.3 with the latest patches from the FTP site. We first had the same issue with version 8.0 and therefore we installed version 8.3. The customer has an SOLO version with the connectivity kit for the 7575r Ricoh PRO C651EX. Did someone have the same problem?

Default RIP stands in offline mode

    Frank,

Can you clarify what you mean when you say that the RIP stands in offline mode? What is the symptom that the customer is seeing that leads to this conclusion? What are they doing to temporarily correct the problem?

    Regards,

    Rick

    Rick,

The RIP stands in PAUSE. The print jobs stays in this condition until the customer reboot the Micropress. First we thought it was a keyboard combination he used, but he doesn't use keyboard combinations.

    Frank,

The RIP software that is installed on the MicroPress server basically has two possible input states. The Rip can either be started or stopped. If the RIP inputs are stopped, the printed file will remain in the windows printer’s spool queue. To correct that problem should only require that the user start the inputs of the RIP software. A reboot should not be required.

If the file to be printed reaches the PrintStation Manager software on the MicroPress server while the virtual printer queue (in PrintStation Manager) is paused, then the job will show that it is in a waiting (W) status. In this scenario, the user only has to right click on the virtual printer and select “Resume” for all waiting jobs to print.

If you feel that your situation requires further troubleshooting please feel free to contact support at 855.334.4457. Please have your dongle number available.
