Question Print next / Rush Print doesn't work

    Hi,
we use the newest Version of the CWS (5.3.1.32d) on Mac OSX 10.6.
    RIP:
    Canon iPR Server A3100 V2.0
    Software: 8 Release 2

If we do a right click -> "print next" (or rush print) on a job in the printing que (see attached file) it doesn't print this job as next. The Job instead stays on its position.

    What can we do?

    Best regards,
    WalterM

Default Print next / Rush Print doesn't work

    Hi Walter,

Please note that Rush Print function will not interrupt a currently processing job. It will only interrupt a currently printing job which was completely processed in CWS.

Could you please verify that patch 1-141N1B is installed, this patch resolves some issues reported on Rush printing for this controller. The list of installed patches can be viewed from CWS/Device Center / Server Configuration / Complete Summary.

If this patch is not installed, please contact your reseller or Canon Support help-desk.

    Regards,

    A-

Default Print next / Rush Print doesn't work

    Hi Anna,
we have installed the Patch 1-141N1B.
"Rush Print" works perfect now! It interrupts the current printig job.

But the function "Print next" still doesn't work.
    Can we fix that, too?

    Best regards,
    WalterM

    Default Face up printing

    Hi,
since we've installed the Patch, all the jobs are printet with face down.
The settings for "face up printing" are inoperable.

    Is this a known issue?

    Best regards,
    WalterM

    Hi,
since we've installed the patches 1-141N1B, ProdID and 1-145OV our Papers in the Paper Catalog gets locked. (see Screenshot).
We have installed a backup of the Paper Catalog various times. But after a few days the Catalog gets locked again

We can't select the locked Paper Catolog items in the properties of a printing job.

Is there a possibility to beware of this problem ...or at least to unlock locked Papers?

    Best Regards,
    WalterM

    Default Paper Catalog Entries locked

    Hi Walter,
this patch should not have the side effect which you are describing, at least we did not receive any report an similar issues yet.
A lock icon icon will appear next to an entry if the user assigns/registers a mediatype to a tray that does not match the original size associated with it.
Below and example to explain when paper catalog entries might lock:
You create “Blue’s special paper” with A4 size.
Then, on the engine LCD, you assign/register “Blue’s special paper” to a tray that has Letter size paper.
The Fiery paper catalog module will automatically create a dynamic entry with a new name “Blue’s special paper Letter” and a lock icon will appear next to the entry. This newly created paper catalog entry will disappear if you remove the association to the tray.

This is expected behavior and not an issue.

    Thanks,
    A-

    Hi Anna,
    thanks for your answer.
The problem is, that all Papers (383 different) of the Catalog get locked at the same time - for ever.
So we can't select any PaperCatalog at the dropdown in the properties of a Printjob. The Dropdown is empty.

    Best Regards,
    WalterM
