Question Printer Preferences or Hold Queue

How can I stop staff printing direct to the printer without any control.
ideally I would like any printing to pick up printing prefernces rathe than just printing everything in colour on a single sheet.
I have Fiery Vue printing to hold to allow me some control.
Printing prefs on the said printer are set to BW and to store the job rather than print.
What happens is the job pops straight out in colour every time.
We are a school and this could cost us a lot of money and inconvenience.
    Thanks

    Default Help please

    Is there anyone out there.
I can't be the only one to have this issue.
Surely everyone using printme connect would want to control the printing of others.

    Hello Benno,

Which copier and Fiery model do you have?

    Thank you,

Benno, if you have virtual printers you can set these up to publish and lock down the features you do not want people to change!

I don't see how that would help with printme connect!

    Hello Benno,

You might consider enabling authentication with Fiery Users and Groups. If Fiery authentication is enabled you can specify which users can print in color or only b&W. PrintMe Connect supports using Fiery authentication.

    Best regards,

    Default Authentication

Bruce, does that mean that printme connect won't send to the hold queue. This would allow me to utilise the finishing facilities on the printer.

Correct. PrintMe Connect does not print to the hold queue.

PrintMe Mobile will allow this. You can find more information about PrintMe Mobile at the following link. http://w3.efi.com/printme-mobile

    Best regards,

    Default User authentication

Bruce, I tried your suggestion (re: user authentication) and this does allow me to select the black and white option for a user group, but doesn't seem to work with the mailbox, which is the other option.
So the only solution is to buy something else??? Hmmm!!
