    Default Rip Times

    Hi

    We are knew to this...

We currently have X2 - Konica Minolta Bizhub Pro 6500. Running with Fiery Workstation 5. The Fiery System we have is 8 Release 2.

Are files are of a small size but are taking 10 mins to process a two page flyer. These seem to be excessive.

Can anyone advice and suggested settings etc?

If you have the dark gray box hanging off the back of the bizHub, that would be a X3eTY Fiery (KM calls it the IC-408).
The X2 is a relic from the past century (circa 1999), and never was offered for use on a bizHub.

You say it is System 8 Release 2, but can you confirm it is running latest system version 2.0?

If you print a Fiery Configuration page it will give you version and any patches loaded. It is very possible that Fiery patches are not loaded, or have not been updated for quite some time.
Run System Updates on it. If you are not sure on how to do this, or how to install patches on the Fiery, please contact your KM dealer.

For the slow processing issue, what operating system type/version and application/version are you using?

What kind of imposition and finishing are you doing?

we are currently running version 2 and we have all of the current updates we are running alot of different types of jobs.

I communicated with Fiery direct and our issues seemed to be in relation to the embedded files within our PDF which they have gave us a few suggestions to improve the rip.
