CWS 5.3 Hot Folder Issue
Ijn the previous version of CWS5.2 we were able to create a Hot Folder that would take a business card and do a Gangup/Repeat onto 12x18 paper (24 up) Duplex w/ marks. The customer could drag a standard 3.5x2 business card into the Hot folder and automatically have it go to the Hold queue and have a 24 up sheet ready to print.
In 5.3 the only Gangup options are Cut&Stack, or Step&Repeat. There is no way to create a Hot folder with the needed settings.
Anyone have any idea on how to get around this or is there a patch that will enable this/
FYI this is a KM C7000/IC-306.

Hi Rich,
Let me check this and report back. I assume that you don't have the Fiery SeeQuence Impose option.

Hi Rich,
How did you define your gangup in CWS 5.2 compared to CWS 5.3? You mentioned that your gangup included marks, so it sounds like it was defined in Impose and saved as a template which could then be selected when Impose was selected in the Layout tab of Job Properties. The Gangup option in the Layout tab only offers Cut and Stack and Step and Repeat, similar to what you described. These were also the only choices available in earlier CWS versions.
You can define a Gangup/Repeat imposition in CWS 5.3 and it's companion version of Hot Folders. When you configure the Hot Folder, choose to Define Job Properties. In the Layout tab, choose Impose and then click the Edit Impose Template button. When you define your Imposition, choose Gangup, and Repeat. You can then define sheet size, orientation, rows & columns, marks and other required settings. When you close the window you will be asked to name the template, and it will then be applied to the Hot Folder.
You will need your Impose dongle or SeeQuence Suite dongle connected to the PC when you create your template, otherwise you will see the demo watermark.

is there anyway in which you can set the Hot folder to recongnise the orientation of the file type that is been dropped in.
I.e if i have a 1up busness card in landscape at the moment we have to set the Hotfolder to Landscape, for it to repaeat 25up correctly. and obv if someone drops in portraite it dosent recognise this and prints wrong.

Hi
Re Above, when we impose on a job and change it to 'user defined' as mentioned above and then save over an existing template. when another job is dropped into the same hot folder, thus applying those setting that we have just saved. When the job is process in CWS5 our Ricoh C901 machine rebioots itself, with an error.
Has anyone else experienced this?
