    Default Canon iR C4080

    Sorry if this is in the wrong section of the Forum, and I have tried searching the forum this issue, but have found nothing so far.

    Right now we have a Canon iR C4080 (with Fiery Image Pass), our users access it off of a Windows 2008 File and Print server. A PS3 driver is installed on the F&P server.

    Also we have it set that Canon can only accept print jobs with Valid department ID's (for accounting purposes).

    Users are experiencing an issue having to send print jobs multiple times, because first 2-3 attempts before the Canon spits out any prints.

    The Fiery Job Log shows these prints as Unknown. An example is:

    Document - Unknown
    Size - Unknown
    Media - Unknown
    PDL - Blank

    Has anyone else encountered this issue? The canon is running the Latest firmware.

    Is this possibly a Fiery issue? Or could it be network related?

    This sounds like a spooling issue and this simple fix is worth a try. On the Windows 2008 Server go to the Printers Folder, choose Properties of the shared printer, choose the Advanced tab and then uncheck the "Enable advanced printing features" option. This won't change any features but it will change the way Windows spools for this printer.
