We've constructed a workflow for our C10000 printer where an outside program creates JDF files and sends them to a HotFolder accepting JDFs and placing the jobs in 'Hold'. This system has been working just fine for about a year, but recently started having problems for seemingly no reason. Some JDF...
I'd like to print multipage PDF jobs using JDF to specify different paper trays for specific pages. The paper tray changes are random and cannot be set per a consistent page pattern (every 30th page, etc.). We have been able to create JDF Hotfolders for single page jobs but have no idea how to...
My company has been considering implementing a JDF workflow to our photography studio. We're working with a Canon B5000 RIP and want to be able to print variable quantities of our products using JDF. Thus far we have found success in placing JDF documents in our Fiery Hot Folders and running...
Hi, We have a BizHub C1100-Firey. We need to create a JDF file that would control a PDF we print daily with the following features: control the Media (which tray a page would pull from), if that page is duplex or no duplex, and the color. Thank you for any info provided!! -E
Have a client asking if we can use an XML file and have a Fiery E-34 understand the XML data and convert it into JDF at the Fiery level. I do not see anyway to do this and am suggesting PS files that we can use SPD commands for media calls. I have attached two of the XML files as well as the PDF...
Hello, We have been submitting JDF to hotfolders for awhile doing okay but have had problems getting JMF to work as well. One of our latest things with our JMF testing is when the job gets to the Commmand Workstation job list we would like it to auto "Process and Hold" like our JDF's do when we...
Hello Everyone: Is there not a setting on press to automatically calculate how many sheets are needed for the number of final copies you need produced? For example, if I have a business card that requires 50 cards and using 21 up imposition. Is CWS 6.1 not smart enough to know that I...
We're working on getting a JDF workflow functioning in our workplace. We're sending the JDFs to our EFI Hot Folders that are enabled for JDF input. This leads to my question- As I understand it, you can embed the PDF you want to print into the JDF or, in the JDF, I can include a reference to the...
Hi EFI community, For a customer, we need to submit PostScript jobs to a Canon imageRUNNER C7500 series behind a GX500 controller with page range functionality. By page range functionality, I mean we let the user print a subset of the submitted document total pages. For instance, print only...
Hello, I am working with RICOH Process Director to send jobs via PDF/JDF to the Fiery. I am getting a mis-match on the media even though I have a media in the paper catalog that is named identically to what I'm getting from the JDF. I have also made sure that the product id is the same as the...
By far the best place to check to see if JDF support is available for specific Fiery controller models is the Supported Printers link at http://efi.com/fjdf. We use this as our reference even internally at EFI and it is usually updated at least once per month.
Hi All, we have Fusion Pro v9.1.0 and when we try to send a JDF job to the Fiery (it is configured to send to the default port and is enabled on the Fiery) Fusion Pro reports that the server is not available. Any ideas gratefully received?
Hello, Currently at our company we are trying to automate the production of Web to Print online orders through an onsite propriety order system. When a customer orders a piece, the PDF is generated using fusion pro and then dropped into a hotfolder created by Switch Automation, along with XML...
I am researching how to better automate our printing here, and I'm curious to know how some of the more seasoned JDF users utilize the product. I've done some reading, and gone through the appropriate workflow courses on JDF and Fiery Workflows on the Global University site, as well as the...
I am fairly new to Pace but am a VERY experienced Fiery user. I am getting orientation issues when trying to send a JDF imposed job to our Fiery from Pace. The job is a portrait business card (2"x3.5") The layout looks correct in Pace but when previewed on the Fiery the heads are facing...
I've read some post on embedding a PDF into a JDF can someone explain the process on how to do this. Is the PFD actually appended to the JDF or is it still linked? It would be nice to not have to link the file if it can be transported with or a part of the JDF. We used to append our Xerox XPF's to...
My company has decided to explore using hot folders and JDFs to completely automate our printing system. However, none of us have any experience with these tools and don't quite know where to begin (the entire process can be overwhelming if you don't know where to start). We were wondering if...
Hello, I am currently working on getting JDF to work for our company, and ran into some troubles. I got some documentation and JDF examples from Xerox, but unfortunately not everything I need is described in the examples, and the documentation seems outdated. The pdf documentation file I...
We are just implementing JDF into our workflow and its going pretty well. Really could use a document geared towards Fiery JDF commands for a the Ricoh 9110. Figured out the stacker location but still looking for the JDF code to "FaceUp normal order". Many thanks.
can someone tell me what the cause of this error is? The end user states the job prints out fine, but shows an error in the queue and they are unable to delete the job. Please see attached image from CWS
