when creating a paper profile using i1 process control there is GCR amount and Black curve.

usually there is a default setting for canon image press 6010 which is

GCR amount =50
Black curve= medium

how can find the optimum value between these two settings to be able to increase GCR
to be able to lower toner consumption?
would this help in lowering toner consumption?

thx

Why would you want to lower toner consumption. Is toner not in your contract?

Setting the GCR to 50 would mean you can adjust both ways up and down equally. If set to 0 no GCR will be performed in the generationof the profile.

Setting the Black curve to max would mean the absolute most density will be possible. Overtoning could appear on your prints.

It might be wise to ask canon for a good explanation of Process control since its quite vital for your print output if you profile this way. I doubt Canon will have an answer since it seems no one really knows what process control can do or should do. At least this is the case in the Netherlands.

Hi ayman,

Apologize to moderators, because this is an Efi forum.

Maybe the answer is on User Manual page 12 . Go to Help tab and select "Documentation".
