Hi, I am having a problem printing a PDF file at 1200 DPI. I'm printing to a Toshiba 6550C with a Fiery GA-1310EX controller. Printing from a MAC 10.6.8. Latest Driver and copier firmware installed. File has a light green screen in it and it take looks fine when printing at 600 DPI. But at 600DPI the text isn't that sharp. So printing at 1200 DPI the text is better but the light green screen area becomes very very faint and looks more pink than green. The only setting changed is the DPI setting.

Any thoughts what could be causing this?

It's hard to say without seeing what is meant by a light green screen. Is it posible the light green screen is creating some sort of a moire effect when printing at 1200dpi?

Thank you,
Bruce

That might be what's happening. I'm not a software expert. I work more with installing, configuring and calibrating the Fiery's. Anyone who knows Indesign might have a better idea. Thanks for replying.

If you want to up the resolution of your device, you also need to up the line sceen on the device.

You are seeing your green tint dots with finer resolution, but now there are not enough dots to fill the page properly.

On a Konica Minolta device, this is possible on the hardware of the MFD.

I'll look into that possibility.
