Receiving fiery cups error printing to Konica Minolta C5501 from InDesign CS3 on an iMac Intel Core i7 running Mac OS 10.6.8. Driver: Fiery X3eTY 65-55C-KM PS 2.0.

The InDesign file is opened on the iMac over a network where the file resides on an smb Snap server. The majority of files like this print without error. But even files that haven’t generated the fiery cups error can do so on subsequent printing.

The InDesign print progress bar appears to close before all data is spooled. The print queue window immediately displays fiery cups error for the print job.

Does this happen only from that Mac? (do you print to Fiery from other Macs?)

Does this happen only when printing InDesign files - what about printing from other applications?

As for the driver you are using, where did you get this driver from?

Another item worth trying...
As of late July, Apple made available through Software Update a fix for an issue that could effect Fiery printing. Name of the specific update is “Mac OS X 10.6.8 Supplemental Update”.
Was this installed on that iMac?

Fiery cups error occurs on multiple iMacs, some of which run OS 10.6.7.

Affects only InDesign printing.

Driver taken from the Konica Minolta drivers webpage. ( Onyx FTP )

Mac OS 10.6.8 is the Supplemental Update.

not sure that it was mentionned, but it looks like the CUPS permissions issue with 10.6.

you can find the fix here (t), under Fiery Software, you will find the Apple Mac OSX 10.6 Fiery Driver Updater.

Please follow the instructions.

An update:

We tried the patches listed in scotts private message:
1.) install Fiery software uninstaller tool on Mac and open it. Delete existing Fiery printer AND its driver using this tool - it is simple and intuitive. Reboot Mac.

2.) open 1-1CDYOD and then run it's installer. This will install a brand new 10.6 print driver that fixes various InDesign print issues. Then set up new printer using this new driver

The print job is still failing to print.

I wanted to ask what the "Mac OS 10.6 CUPS Filter Fix v2.20.f03" installer does?

What does it fix?

Does it fix getting the error:

/Library/Printers/efi/Filters/fierycupsfilter failed

When I print 2 pages duplexed? So far it doesn't seem to fix it on my Intel OS X 10.6 Mac.
