When printing to printer margins which we sometimes do from Acrobat as clients do layouts right to edge of page - fit to printer margin doesn't work as probably no printer margins were defined in driver.

To clarify a 11x17 may reduce to 8.5x11 or vice versa but layout goes to edge of paper and if text is near edge it is cut off by the fact the copier must leave a margin.

The only current work around is to Print to Hold, or move a printed job to Hold queue and select Fit to Page in Command Workstation and then it does fit to margins.

Windows 7, 64 bit flaw and 32 bit, possibly XP.

What about the fit to page setting in the Fiery driver itself?

In other words, don't use Acrobat's "fit to printer margin". When you do file-print, go into the preferences and use the Fiery feature itself.

As Adam said, use the "Scale to fit" option in the Fiery Driver. If going into the driver each time is cumbersome, you can always make the default driver settings include "Scale to fit = ON".

Printer margins were removed from the client drivers because they cause problems with Impose, Bookletmaker, and any other Fiery-side scaling/cropping functions.

Using the Fiery scaling tools gives the Fiery controller the ability to adjust the data as appropriate for any desired workflow. If you use application scaling instead, you risk scaling already-scaled data and introducing unwanted artifacts and margins.
