Hello,

We have a customer who is having problems printing their Power Point(don't get me started) files to their Xerox DC260 using the bustled Fiery.
For security reasons, they will not send the files to me to test on our equipment, so I want to be as prepared as possible when I go onsite.
It sounds like they are having problems with the graphics not printing as they display, areas blocked out, etc.

If anyone else here has had to deal with these Power Point issues, could you please suggest some settings that might alleviate their problems? It doesn't seem like they would be willing to go to a PDF workflow, so that option is out.

Thank you.

Make sure you have it fully patched including 1-17LDI0. This patch has to do with missing images in Acrobat, but it's worth a try. (Vector graphic objects outputs incorrectly.) Also, try using distiller and see what your output looks like. It could just be a bad file.
Thanks, Craig

If they're doing transparency or gradient effects in Powerpoint, there's a high probability of running into issues when they print. Should they want to do any sort of image-scaling with that kind of data, then it's practically guaranteed that you'll see issues.

This is a result of the way Powerpoint creates transparencies or gradients for printing. Thankfully, with Office 2007 or later, there's a "High quality" checkbox in the printer dialog which flattens transparencies and gradients before printing.
