View Full Version : Fiery insists on 11x17W instead of 11x17 paper

Hi, first post here.
In Adobe Illustrator CS3, when we create a tabloid sized document and select "Tabloid" in the Print dialog box, the Fiery automatically chooses 11x17W (instead of 11x17) as the default size. This is causing us problems because we must override this setting back to 11x17 each time in order to print (we have 11x17 set up in the printer).

We tried allowing 11x17W to be selected and changing the printer tray setting on the Bizhub to 11x17w so that the 2 would match, but found that this caused tabloid pages to tile incorrectly (the tiled edges would lose about 1/4" of print area and thus no longer line up)

In the Paper Handling section, the dropdown menu beside the Destination Paper Size lists both Tabloid and 11x17w, but 11x17w is listed as the "suggested" paper size. You can choose Tabloid, but regardless of which is selected, when you return to the first print window, 11x17w is reselected in the Media Size drop down menu. In the preview area on the left of the print window you can see the print area boundaries change.

Konica Minolta is currently final testing a driver fix for this issue (1-15H31O). I would think it will be available via their download site in about 1-4 weeks

Any update yet? Has the fix been released?

Is the promised update out yet?
6 months of manually overriding the page settings x 3 users x thousands of print outs is getting seriously irritating.

KM released patch 1-15H31O (updated Mac driver) to field in May. You can check if it is available at http://onyxftp.mykonicaminolta.com/download/Search.aspx?ht=

If not, please contact your KM dealer.

Service tech researched this last week but wasn't able to locate this patch onsite or thru his contacts. However he did try selecting a different PPD than what we were using. He thinks we were still using the PPD for our printer (a Canon Minolta bizhub360) instead of one specifically for the Fiery (which was installed on the printer)

Once he selected the Fiery PPD this seems to have eliminated the issue in the page setup/print windows.
